Is Wi-Fi harmful?
Short answer: No
We get asked this question every now and then since we deal with high power Wi-Fi so we thought we would gather some facts and provide them for your review:
What is Wi-Fi?
Wi-Fi is a type of radio wave similar to radio waves that operate on different frequencies for handheld walkie-talkies, cellular phones and even microwaves.
Are Radio Waves Harmful?
Radio frequencies are measured between the ranges of 3 kHz to 300 GHz, and do not emit ionizing waves that cause damage to the human body.
How strong are Wi-Fi Radio Waves?
Compared to Cell Phones
Wi-Fi radio waves have roughly 5% the output power of a standard cellular phone.
That's 20 times less output power.
This may help put this into perspective. The Health Protection Agency (HPA) states that "someone sitting in a Wi-Fi hotspot for a year would receive the same dose of radiowaves as someone using a mobile phone for 20 minutes."

Compared to Microwave Ovens
Wi-Fi radio waves have an ouput power that is 0.001% or "100,000 times less than a domestic microwave oven."
Are there regulations on Wi-Fi use?
Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the Occupational Health & Safety Agency (OSHA), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are renowned organizations that have established guidelines for exposure limits for radio frequency radiation.

To conclude, Amped Wireless products follow all regulatory guidelines and are certified by the FCC. As mentioned above, the use of Wi-Fi and high power Wi-Fi RF radio waves have been tested and researched by leading universities and publications. Findings from the research have overwhelmingly confirmed that Wi-Fi use is safe and not harmful to users. It has also stated that the overall RF output power, whether using high power or standard power Wi-Fi devices, is much lower than that of cellular towers, cellular phones and other RF based devices.
